Letters: Volume 2, Number 2

January 5th, 2006

Hope everyone's having a great new year. 2005 was very interesting, both in the Zelda world and in the grand scheme of things. Here's hoping 2006 will top it!

To be in the next edition, submit your own letters to sillychillyman@myself.com.

Anthony writes: Great site. I found your music section very informative, even though most of it is missing. When are you going to have a feature like that on Zelda 5? That one had the best soundtrack.

Ice replies: Glad you liked it. We're tackling the music analysis section game by game, but that doesn't mean that we'll go in order. Since you requested it, Zelda 5 is a very likely pick for the next music analysis.

Shkah_05 writes: Um, you left out like half of my letter in your letters page today [January 1st].

Ice replies: I'm not sure you read my reply; I even said on the page that I shortened it. I did this because the second half of your letter contained material that I did not want posted on the site at this time, concerning Twilight Princess. This is currently a spoiler-free site, and it will remain that way until we decide otherwise. I'm glad you brought that up though.

I usually do cut letters in some fashion. Usually I'll take out the greeting, or the ending, or an intro/conclusion sentence. Rarely do I take out an entire paragraph, but things that qualify as personal correspondence will not be posted. Also, if a point that was brought up in one letter is covered in another letter, I'll probably take that part out too. I won't under any circumstance alter the meaning of your letter, but I may do some trimming. I cut your letter again, because the rest of it qualified as personal correspondence.

Chick2002 writes: Some people say that Zelda will be a playable character in Twilight Princess. And the game is going to have functions for the Nintendo Revolution!

Ice replies: Just in case Shkah_05 was wondering, yes, I cut some of this letter too.

It's entirely possible that Zelda will be a playable character in Twilight Princess. That's an idea that's been tossed around since the CD-i era, where it actually came to pass (in an interesting and graphically pleasing way). The name, "Twilight Princess", almost implies that a princess of some sort will play a big role. Whether or not you will control her, it remains to be seen. As far as I know, there has been no confirmation on the subject.

And I've heard about the Revolution support; it's exciting news. We'll just have to wait and see how this all pans out. Thanks for your letter.

HylianSage writes: I'm a fan from long, long ago. I wrote a letter back in 1999 that was published on your site. The letters section was more fun then, when there were tons of people answering. I loved reading the interactions between the staff.

Bring some of them back! JMK, Navie, Maniac clown, or Nebula. I don't care which ones, I just want some conflict :#

PS - Nebula is hot!

Ice replies: I'm considering people for letters positions, though I highly doubt JMK, Navie, ManiacalClown, or Nebula will be back anytime soon. Keep your eyes peeled though.

And it's great to get letters from long-time fans. Welcome back!
